Restarting after a break is almost always difficult irrespective of the circumstances or duration of your break

For starters, attmept to not allow yourself to feel guilty or overwhelmed. Allow yourself to accept that you are facing a setback but it doesn't mean you won't be able to get back on track

It's not going to be easy but being hard on yourself especially in situations not in your control like mental or physical health issues, family emergencies etc will make restarting even more challenging.

  1. Start with the bare minimum even if it's a few minutes or just a 10 minute walk. You are trying to re-introduce exercise into your life don't be in a hurry.

  2. Exercise should be a part of your life and your aim should be to consistently exercise while allowing addition and subtraction based on the phase your life is in

  3. It might feel like you're starting from the beginning or that you've slowed down or that you're not meeting your goals on the due date you set. That is kinda how it is and that's ok. It's ok to restart, it's ok to take a break and it's absolutely ok to take a few steps back before you go ahead

  4. Don't create unrealistic expectations for yourself. Don't compare yourself to people with more time or resources. It's not a race. It's about doing the best you can.

You're doing your best and you should be proud of yourself for not giving up. Consistency is just about restarting again and again. Over time you will realise that even at your lowest you are much further than when you started. Working to make fitness a habit and enjoying the journey is key to staying healthy and fit for life!
